fun times.. a year and a month have passed since i moved in to the house where my cousin deb and her husband bobby live.. i had a small but comfortable room, tv, etc.. a nice cozy family situation, you might say....right?.
i pay $600 a month to defray expenses.. hunky dory.. sure.
until the first few eruptions!.
just wondering if your name describes what you saw, how you were treated when you were "in" or now "out", maybe your personality, ect.... i'm label licker and the why i picked this name was because of all the licking up one side of elders and down the other to either be an elder or ministerial servant.
one time i was standing right in front of this brother who wasn't made an ms yet and he totally ignored me and talked right over my head speaking really loud trying to catch the co's attention.. got sick of watching the poor elderly sitting all alone or standing against the wall like a wall flower with noone to talk to and yet all these label lickers would take turns picking up the elders elderly parents and take them shopping and do their groceries at least four times a week while out in service, yet, there was noone there to take a meal to a sister who just got out of the hospital with a heart attack.
when i had shown up at her apartment with a meal she asked if i could wash her private and change her bandages.
I picked my name from a favorite book
[hey there unstopableravens, you may have to change your name to unstopabletears. Or I may be changing mine to eva luna-tic. either way one of us will be crying ]

I think it's 87.6% are made up
this is obviously a question for parents.
i have made my decision, but i am interested in your views and feelings.
if you are a young person, i would be interested in your thoughts and feelings too.
I agree with Tater. A big fat NO!
I say this from raising children and being one too.
If you are worried about some dangerous behavior, take them to a therapist. They have to report it.
Most important, you need to establish trust. They should feel comfortable talking to parents. If they find out you have read private writings, you ruin all that and may never get it back. It also can set up a life long feeling of distrust, from my view.
As a parent, we may not realize things have changed , our children are growing up. We need to learn new ways of parenting.
All the best to you Data

so last night the wife is working, the kids are getting ready for bed and i'm watching futurama.
doorbell rings.
now it's dark, snowing and i live on a back road, so it's very odd to have a visitor.
I had a pop-in by 2 elders . I saw them from an upstairs window, so I didnt answer.
A week later I got a call about having a Christmas tree in my living room.
I laughed , saying it was a ficus with lights.
They had to look into my windows to see my houseplant.
Nerds!
Ok Rip, who needs to fly out to Amsterdam when you live in California. Just dont dare me..........;-)
several years ago, whenever i got a talk slip i would get really nervous but accept it and work on it almost immediately.
of course that was way back when i still believed it all.. now they gave me a #3 talk out of the blue about a month ago and i had forgotten all about it till the meeting night.
i really thought about not showing up at all but at the last minute, i decided to go.. so when i got there the meeting had already started and so i just stayed in the back looked at the info, found 2 scriptures and then without any notes i went up and gave the stupid talk!.
I dont ever remember writing one. LOL
My mom always did them. I joined the Ministery School at 6 years old. She contiuned to do them until I moved out. She could write them out in an hour.
Later, changing congregations so often, I always asked/begged to just be a house holder. I hated everything about talks. Just getting that slip kept me up for nights.
I would imagine all the things I would rather do instead of a talk, like going to the dentist and haveing work done with out a pain shot.
Sometimes when I see 4x5 cards I still get the heebee jeebees
I see alot of kids started at 6
Yes, I did.
Not having a normal teen life. I ended up doing somethings much later. In my mind I was willing to try everything at least ounce. Raised a few eyebrows and looked like a dingbat I'm sure. (no offence to real bats ;-)
I've calmed down now, probably becasue I have no choice. Still can get a wild streak, espically when given a dare.
thank you for all of your support durning the two difficult weeks my mother was on her death bed.
last night at 10:30pm she breath her last with my sister and i by her side.
this is a real end of an era for me as i have known little these past 8 years other than taking care of my parents.
I'm very sorry Roberta
I admire your strength and the loving care you showed your parents these last years.
My thoughts will be with you the next days, as you make this jouney.
Inner peace to you

not sure where i should post this?.
last year i got into home canning.
this year i sooooo want to make homemade tomato sauce, but i'll need a food mill to do it because it's too time consuming to de-seed 52 jars worth of tomatoes.. i've been online looking at customer reviews for various brands and models, but now i'm just a muddled mess.reviews speak about multiple uses and the pros and cons, but i only want it for tomato sauce/spaghetti sauce.. do any of you use a food mill for homemade tomato sauce?
Hi JWOP
Good for you on taking up canning and gardening. Good canned tomatoes are so expensive. Oragano grows well, almost like a weed. The canning, I greatly admire , I just havent found the patience for it ,,,yet.
You have some great suggestions here.
For a simple Mother sause...I like to start with about 20 cloves of chopped garlic and saute until golden in oilive oil, alot of olive oil. be careful not to burn it or it gets bitter . For some sweetness you can finally grate some carrot. I use REAL Salt, a good sea salt that is full of trace minerals. Some black pepper. I use 2, 32 ounce canned crushed tomatoes.
Are your tomatoes peeled? If not, you can peel and quater them. mashing them with an old fashioned potatoe masher. Add them to the garlic and oil. Simmer this for an hour or more. If you are worried about the carbs you can use broiled zucchini, sliced lenght wise and other vegetables instead of pasta and make a lasagna with ricotta with a little wisked egg and spices, or fresh Mozzerlla and pecorino.
I like your name...Smile.. but I always read it J-WOP.
